Where

Lonavala, located away from the bustling metropolitan cities of Mumbai and Pune, provides a much-needed respite for city dwellers. This town will enchant you with its lush green Sahyadri Hills, endless waterfalls, and beautiful lakes. It’s no surprise that this spectacular hill station has served as a backdrop for a slew of Bollywood films. Artists, explorers, and even honeymooners have been inspired by the picturesque landscape. This town in Maharashtra is only 64 kilometres from Pune and 96 kilometres from Mumbai, making it one of the state’s most popular tourist destinations. You can also go to Khandala, a nearby hill station that is equally beautiful and exciting. \r\n\r\n Some refer to it as the “Jewel of Sahyadri” because of its tranquil valleys or mountains, while others refer to it as the “City of Caves” because of its numerous caves such as Bhaja, Karla, and Bedsa. You can’t help but feel relaxed and rejuvenated as you walk around munching on ‘chikki,’ a traditional candy. Hiking enthusiasts can reach Duke’s Nose or Tiger’s Leap.

Best Time To Visit Lonavala
The winter season, which lasts from October to March, is the best time to visit Lonavala. The average low temperature ranges from 10°C to 20°C, making it ideal for trekking and other outdoor activities. Lonavala is engulfed in an enchanting foggy mist, which adds to the town’s beauty. Because the weather is cold, bring a jacket or two. The monsoon season begins in June and lasts until September, making this the ideal time to visit Lonavala. The rains make the town look greener and more romantic, with cascading waterfalls. If getting soaked in the rain does not appeal to you, make sure you have an umbrella with you.

How to reach Lonavala
Lonavala does not have its own airport. However, it is close to the airports in Mumbai and Pune. Air India, SpiceJet, GoAir, IndiGo, Jet Airways, Vistara, and other domestic airlines operate here, as do international airlines such as Air Arabia, Air China, Air Canada, Lufthansa, British Airways, EgyptAir, and others. Suggestion for Safety: Neither Mumbai nor Pune airports experience inclement weather. As a result, flying to any of these airports is simple.

Transport in Lonavala
